PROSTHETICS AND ORTHOTICS IN PAKISTAN
How trainings for prosthetists and orthotists are the first step to awareness
RI is innovative, creative and sustainable, and I think that is very important because you cannot depend on foreign donors or foreign funding. I think the entrepreneurial part of RI is very interesting. I just visited the RI and it is very inspiring to see this sustainable way of working. There is a lot of work to do and also, a lot of potential. I am really impressed by it and I am looking forward to see this growing and developing further. I wish the RI very best in further development.
Bernard Jaspers FaijerWell I think it is an absolutely fabulous initiative because it will potentially give many more people access to prostheses and orthoses, it reduces the cost, it build local capacities, it is brilliant I think. Pakistan is really in a process of getting autonomous, it is already autonomous on many things but on this in particular. It will allow many more people to have access to devices at reduced costs.
Anne FrancoiseTo have facilities like you have here, it is a very ideal facility to learn. You have enough room, you have the machines you need, and the right space for the patient and the Prosthetist and Orthotist to learn. Having a facility like this in my opinion would boost education in O&P Sector.
Nicholas BuenosIt is overwhelming to see how much the ICRC is doing for Emergency Medicine in Pakistan. While on visit to the ICRC, I came to know about the Rehab Initiative and it is an impressive project. I think the government of Pakistan, the local people and donors should support this program, they are doing a great job.
