BUSINESS STRATEGY
The RI has adapted a social enterprise model in which it has two revenue generation streams. The major source of its revenue generation are the social revenue streams which are powered by donations and grants from donors and public sources, whereas the other component for deriving revenue is its commercial revenue streams, which are driven by RI provided supply chain services, trainings and IT pools and trainings.
The revenue generated in totality is then used utilized to cover operating costs related to commercial activities and social activities e.g. advocacy and awareness, capacity building, research and innovation, service provision, etc. Surplus revenues are invested for the growth and expansion of income generating activities in order to gradually decrease RI´s reliance on social revenue streams and become independent.
